​​​​​ Lorenzo Savoini is an award winning set, costume, lighting and video designer.  Most notably he has created designs for Soulpepper Theatre, The Stratford Festival, Les Grand Ballet Canadian, Ballet Nacional de Cuba, Theatre Calgary, Citadel Theatre, MTC, Tarragon Theatre, Neptune Theatre, National Arts Centre, Thousand Islands Playhouse, Blyth Festival, The Globe Theatre, Theatre Aquarius, Buddies in Bad Times, Theatrefront, TheatreRun, and The Belfry Theatre.  His design for Soulpepper’s Of Human Bondage was selected to represent Canada at the 2015 Prague Quadrennial.  He is the co-created of a Cage, a multi-disciplinary performance art-theatre piece ,which along with Of Human Bondage, had it's Off-Broadway debut in 2017 at Signature Theatre's Pershing Square Theatre.  He has won two Dora Awards for outstanding set and lighting design and has been nominated 17 times.
Lorenzo is also the Director of Design for Soulpepper Theatre Company .  He has taught Theatre Design at the University of Guelph and York University.  He has an MFA from the University of British Columbia, a BA from the University of Guelph, and currently develops and runs the design stream of the Soulpepper Academy (Soulpepper's two-year paid artistic residency).  Lorenzo is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada.
